Fertile Eggs
We've tested our first few batches of eggs and are pleased to have around 98% fertility!
Our main stock of laying hen is the good old warren (goldline, hyline, RIR hybrid - the amber birds) chosen for her egg laying tendancies.
As many of you know, I offer to re-home people's unwanted cockerels, and this means we always have a MASSIVE mix in the gene pool.
At present, our girls have the attentions of the following breeds of cockerel

Rhode Island Red
Welsummer Bantam
Lavender Araucana
Pekin Bantams
Light Sussex Hybrid
Silkie
Silke Frizzle
Sablepoot
and a few that are just pretty hybrids of unknown descent!
